Federal Corrections Institution - Berlin, NH:

VR Concrete, Inc. was awarded the Federal Corrections Institution, in Berlin, NH, in October of 2007.  This was a two year Project. This Project included all site engineering, construction, project management, quality control and administrative activities. This 600,000 SF facility will house approximately 1200 inmates in (3) four-story general housing units, and (1) two-story special housing unit. The complex also includes several one story buildings for educational, vocational, health, administrative and food services within a secure compound.

This project also includes a weather corridor that links all buildings within the secured perimeter.

Located outside the secured compound is a central shared facility comprised of a central utility plant, a warehouse, a garage/landscape building, a fueling station, and a hazardous materials building.

In addition, there is a medium security Federal Prison Camp with housing and support facilities for 128 inmates, which is located outside the secure compound.

Borough Bridge Replacement - Whitefield, NH:

This Project includes all site survey, construction, project management, quality control and administrative activities. This project involves working directly above a scenic river and is adjacent to a scenic wayside. The environmental impact is a top priority.

The primary elements are the replacement of abutments, wing walls and a new 90’ bridge deck. In keeping with the scenic nature of the site, these elements are architectural concrete.
Because of the works proximity to steep ledge embankments and a rushing river, special care is being exercised to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.

Brattleboro Parking Garage – Brattleboro, VT:

This was a 5-story parking structure with a cast in place post-tensioned bridge and extensive retaining walls.  VR Concrete, Inc. was contracted to perform all footings, walls, piers and flatwork for this job, which is 100% complete.  This project consumed 2,500 c.y. of concrete and 45 tons of reinforcing steel.

Stratton Mountain Ski Club – Stratton, VT:

This was a 25,000 s.f. footprint, 2-story subgrade parking structure with wall heights ranging from 12’ to 32’.  VR Concrete, Inc. was contracted to perform all footings, walls, piers and flatwork for this fast track project, which was completed on time and under budget.  This project consumed in excess of 5,000c.y. of concrete and 200 tons of reinforcing steel.

Carroll Transfer Station - Twin Mountain, NH:

This fast-tracked project consisted of footings, walls and flatwork and was completed ahead of schedule.

Brox Quarry – Dracut, MA:

This project was a series of large piers and foundations to support a multitude of conveyors, screens and crushers. The project consisted of more than 400 anchor bolt settings that stretched out over a 20-acre site.  VR Concrete, Inc. was responsible for all survey work and anchor bolt placement on this project.  This project consumed 10,000c.y. of concrete and 400 tons of reinforcing steel.

Lowes – Gilford, NH: 

VR Concrete was contracted to provide the flatwork for this project.  A laser screed was utilized to maintain compliance with “F” number requirements.

Lowes – Epping, NH:

This was a 136,000s.f. pile supported building with a structural slab, pile caps and grade beams.  This project consumed in excess of 8,000c.y. of concrete and 1,200 tons of reinforcing steel.

Lewiston Parking Garage – Lewiston, ME:

This project offered many unique forming challenges.  All walls were exposed to public view and there were many detailed formwork features.  This project consumed in excess of 2,500 c.y. of concrete.

Rising Bear Lodge – Stratton, VT:

This was a 2-story sub-grade parking structure with a 5-story lodge.  The building footprint was +/-20,000 s.f. with approximately 800 l.f. of wall in excess of 22’ tall.  VR Concrete, Inc. was contracted to perform all footings, walls, piers and flatwork for this project.  This project consumed 3,500 c.y. of concrete and 150 tons of reinforcing steel.

Home Depot – Seabrook, NH:

This was an 110,000s.f. pile supported building with a structural slab and grade beams.  VR Concrete was contracted to perform all footings, walls, beams and flatwork for this project.  This project consumed in excess of 7,000c.y. of concrete and 900 tons of reinforcing steel.

Top Furniture – Gorham, NH:

This was a 45,000s.f. building.  It housed a 10,000s.f. high rack pallet storage warehouse that required a high “F” number slab.  VR Concrete, Inc. was contracted to perform footings, walls and flatwork. This project consumed 1,000c.y. of concrete and 30 tons of reinforcing steel.
